Grace D. Li

Grace D. Li is the bestselling author of Portrait of a Thief, a heist novel exploring Chinese American identity and the question of who gets to claim the past. Her work has been praised for its lyrical prose and exploration of diaspora, belonging, and the spaces between cultures.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Grace graduated from Duke University with a degree in Biology and Creative Writing. She spent her college years running through hospital halls and writing in the margins of her notes, dreaming of stories that bridged the gap between science and art.

When she's not writing, Grace can be found exploring museums, planning her next trip, or trying to convince herself that her coffee addiction is under control. She currently lives in New York City.
